Introduction

Due to the nature of recruiting for SharePoint-related opportunities, my preferred method of first contact is through e-mail which is why I do not include a phone number on my resume. I am only interested in opportunities in SharePoint architecture and design. My interests do not include any type of software development opportunities.

SharePoint Administrator/Infrastructure Architect
I was contracted with USACE to help re-architect their intranet (using SharePoint). While working with the team, I guided the team to begin planning the future state of their intranet by starting and contributing to a technical infrastructure plan which included capacity planning and performance tuning. I also made recommendations for proper SDLC governance policies for their SharePoint farms as well as composing a deployment guide for MOSS 2007.
SAIC Naperville, IL 05/2008 - 06/2010
SharePoint Administrator/Infrastructure Architect
I was originally contracted with SAIC to work on BP’s “eRTIS Improvement Project”. After 6 months I became a full-time employee with SAIC and continued working on the BP project. As the main portion of the project ended in December 2009, I transitioned to a support role and functioned as the primary onshore subject matter expert for the SharePoint-related servers as well as bubble support for ongoing project-related tasks and issues. My primary responsibilities included management of 100 servers (both physical and virtual) as well as the associated virtual host servers. Additional responsibilities included typical support activities, problem solving, customer-interfacing, and maintaining documentation.

During the project, I deployed a total of 9 MOSS farms for BP which included multiple development, test, staging, disaster recovery, and production environments. The eRTIS 2.0 production platform includes three, regionally located, SharePoint farms that are strategically placed across the globe. The farms consist of 2 web front-end / query servers, 1 (dedicated) index server and a clustered (active/passive) database environment. Configuration of these farms included search, next version profile import, personal features, content deployment jobs, and BDC applications.

I also received ITIL v3 Foundations certification during my employment with SAIC.
Navistar, Inc Warrenville, IL 08/2006 - 05/2008
Enterprise Messaging & Collaboration Administrator
I was consulting for ITEC on the Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Team. My duties here included administrative functions across a 14,000-user environment for MOSS 2007, Exchange 2007, and Office Communications Server 2007. I also assisted in management of the company’s BlackBerry Enterprise servers as well as testing new technologies that were being considered for deployment. We successfully upgraded the SharePoint environment to SharePoint 3.0 earlier this year. I also branded both versions of SharePoint to adhere to corporate branding standards and guidelines. (Version 2.0) (Version 3.0 & 3.5)
Littelfuse, Inc. Des Plaines, IL 04/2005 - 09/2008
Web Developer / SharePoint Administrator
I worked on a large-scale SharePoint Portal Server 2003 deployment with this company. I designed a customized interface to give the company’s intranet a uniform, professional look as well as designed custom ASP applications on request and supporting existing applications. I built and deployed (globally) a time and status reporting system. This application was developed using Classic ASP, MS SQL 2000, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets; deployment of this tool also including training the staff on the use of the tool.
CMA Online Marketing 1 Milan, TN 08/2004 - 01/2005
SharePoint Administrator
I developed this company’s web site. The site includes a comprehensive signup application for eBay auctions. It was designed using ASP with a MS Access database backbone. I defined several variables in the global.asa file so the customer would have the ability to easily upgrade their database to SQL Server when they were ready. The proprietary section of the application, used for customer tracking and accounting, uses both database access and a spreadsheet to calculate billing and operating costs.
TMN I.T. Service Dyersburg, TN 01/2004 - 08/2004
SharePoint Administrator
I worked with the TMNITS staff to successfully implement a MS SharePoint portal (2003) for their main intranet. While there were some side projects during my tenure with the company the deliverables for the main project included deployment of the SP portal, migration of their legacy intranet content into the SharePoint environment, and providing custom-developed tools.
Vantek Internet Services Collierville, TN 12/2000 - 01/2004
Sr. Web Developer
I developed IIS applications and web sites using Visual Basic and ASP for our company clients. Responsibilities included creating ASP scripts to encapsulate business functionality in the applications. I used the #Include command to access functionality of several custom classes. The include pages were also used to encapsulate database access. In addition, I debugged ASP pages to create a common include file that printed out the common collection of ASP objects to check on values. Eliminated variables in Session object, as this produced overhead on the server, in order to increase server efficiency and provide better management variables for each user. I used HTML heavily to create interfaces mixed with ASP as well as to achieve dynamic page content. Additionally, used frames to show three different ActiveX controls for the menu workspace and status bar, which were all hosted in Internet Explorer. I also successfully implemented SharePoint team services.
TechnologyDepot.com, Inc. 1 Bruceton, TN 05/2000 - 12/2000
Sr. Web Developer
I promoted rapidly through the company to their Sr. Web Developer. During my tenure with Technology Depot I developed and implemented two large-scale, web-based intranet applications - a customer relationship management system and a professional services automation application. Both were developed using ASP, VBScript, Visual Basic, and JavaScript with a MS SQL database back end. I also developed the company’s multi-tier Internet web site which included client access to the company’s portal.
WNI Corp. 1 Nashville, TN 06/2000 - 12/2000
I.T. Consultant
I developed this company’s Internet website. This web site was primarily HTML based with static-only information. I also helped the company in setting up their in-house hardware and LAN.
Shiloh Hill Spice Products, LLC 1 Camden, TN 01/1998 - 05/2000
Web Developer
I designed this company’s Internet web site using HTML and FrontPage server extensions. It was primarily a static web site with the order forms on a secure server that sent an e-mail to the sales department. I also developed an in-house MS Access database for better inventory management. While with this company I also helped with upgrading their hardware and software.
1 Company is no longer in business or under different ownership/management.
